Executive Bio – Jim Hoven
Director, Operations
Jim brings a wide variety of experience including 21 years of military service and project management totaling over 200 million dollars.
Jim has managed countrywide operations for a government contractor with over 4,500 employees from eleven different countries in a remote, austere and hostile environment. His leadership resulted in the steady growth of the company within his area of responsibility. While serving as the project manager, he successfully executed a 10 million dollar mobilization within a 200 million dollar contract supporting the United States Government in Iraq. His attention to detail, leadership and service oriented mentality was instrumental in his promotion to Country Manager.
Jim has served 21 years in the Alabama National Guard culminating as Commander of a Military Police Battalion that consisted of 4 subordinate companies located throughout Alabama. During that time he managed numerous Alabama National Guard responses to state and national natural disasters and was requested by name to deploy to Louisiana in support of the relief effort during the Katrina aftermath with a 1,500 person task force as the operations officer. He was nationally recognized for his leadership and professionalism during the deployment. Jim also served the Alabama National Guard as the deputy director of military operations and was responsible for all chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives response plans for the state. His work ethic and professional demeanor has been formally recognized and rewarded throughout his career.
Prior to being promoted to Director for RELYANT, Jim held the position of Country Manager in Afghanistan. He has a B.A. and M.A. degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama.
