Owner and President/CEOEric Barton is the owner and President/CEO of RELYANT LLC. RELYANT provides global solutions for critical mission support. The corporate objective is to provide mission critical services to governments and organizations throughout the world. Since Mr. Barton joined RELYANT the company’s total contract values have increased by 155 million from 2007 to 2009. As part of Barton’s 2010 strategic planning and growth initiatives, RELYANT is on target to experience an additional 25% escalation by the end of 2010. International Business ExperienceWith a decade of international business experience, Mr. Barton’s former positions include serving as a Senior Operations Manager responsible for directing and overseeing complex multifaceted programs specializing in intelligence, security services, staffing, training, K-9, life support, and operational requirements in the Middle East and Africa. He has managed over 400 million dollars in contracts, successfully mobilized over 6,000 personnel to various countries around the world, and has established several companies throughout Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. |
Military Background
From the age of seventeen, Eric began serving his country enlisting in the United States Marine Corps (USMC). He continues to hold his TS SCI clearance as a reserve officer. As a Mustang officer he was meritoriously promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant after being recognized for his outstanding leadership and devotion to the Corps. As a Captain, he served as the National Intelligence Center Senior Analyst for the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa National Intelligence Cell. His daily responsibilities included intelligence fusion, analysis and dissemination, as well as nightly TS SCI briefings to the Commanding General, staff, and other governmental agencies working in the seven country region. During his time as a military professional, Eric received numerous awards and commendations for professionalism, leadership, and service above and beyond the call of duty.
Continuing Education and Certifications
Part of Eric’s ongoing commitment as a leader, entrepreneur, and visionary is his focus on continuing education and professional certifications. He holds a Masters of Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, Masters of Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Electronics Management, Associates in Computer Studies and is currently working to finish his PhD in Public Policy concentrating on International Business and Trade Relations. Eric’s formal military training includes graduation from the MarForLant Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection School, Scout Sniper Employment Course, Infantry Officer Course, and Ground Intelligence Officers Course. A member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the Project Management Institute (PMI), Mr. Barton holds professional certifications as an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CQM/OE) and PMI Project Management Professional (PMP). He is currently pursuing his Certified Protection Professional (CPP®) certification from ASIS.
Humanitarian EffortsAs a dedication to his humanitarian efforts, Mr. Barton continues to pursue goodwill contracts. A sample of his teams projects include: the establishment of school complexes in Palestine and Pakistan, emergency villages in Greece and Saudi Arabia, and four medical centers in Burma. Having adopted two children from Ethiopia, he also works with various Non-Governmental Organizations to develop new international adoption programs for children. Most recently, Eric was blessed to have the opportunity to assist and fund the removal of 100 plus children and 44 women from extremely dangerous working conditions in an African rock quarry. The women and children are now able to live on their own land, supporting themselves through agriculture. Family ValuesEric feels by far his greatest achievement is his family. Having dealt with the strain of living outside of the United States for 5 plus years, he and Mechelle, his beautiful wife and best friend, have been happily together for thirteen years. He is a loving father to his five children; Cody, Lexi, Lindie, Ben and Jon. As a family, they enjoy working on their Gypsy Vanner Horse ranch, breeding and raising show Dobermans, and traveling internationally to experience and appreciate other cultures.
